So in everyday life, things happen. Like walking through the screen door. Three times in a row. Really. Both my husband and I did it. Yeah, 3 times in a row. And the dogs too!! I’m like how do we stop doing that?
I wanted to get a walk-through screen, but my husband thought it would look tacky. And then I found a company that makes magnets that you place on either side of your screen. They were fairly good size. The were asking between $12 & $15 for a pair of magnets. And they were nice! Don’t me wrong, they looked like quality magnets.
If you’re like me though, you’ll be thinking - I bet I could make my own. I could get some magnet sheets and dot paint on it!! And I’ll probably save myself some money. So, I went to the office supply store and found some magnet sheets that you could print on.
I cut some circles out and painted this. It works very well.
To help the dogs and small people see the screen, place a couple at their eye level too!
Here’s a picture of what I created on my refrigerator. There are 2 magnets, one for the inside of the screen and one to attach to the outside.
Here’s a picture from the inside looking outside to my deck.
Here’s a picture from the outside looking into my house.
I recently place these on my screen as the days are finally starting to warm up here. I came home one evening from work and found both magnets on the ground curled up like a taco!
What the heck!!
I’m not sure, but it’s possible that the sun warmed them up and it curled them.
So, I don’t recommend the magnet printer sheets that I used. On to Plan B!
